| What causes there to be minimal water in the storage tank? |
| Minimal water in the storage tank can be caused by an incomplete system Start Up, low water pressure, excessive air in the water tank bladder, or a faulty check valve. - If you are performing a Start Up on a reverse osmosis system, you must wait 6-10 hours for the tank to fill. Low water temperatures and pressures can also reduce this production rate. - If the water pressure is below 40 psi, a booster pump may be necessary. - Excessive air in the tank bladder can squeeze out the space designed for the water. Using a tire pressure gauge, check to see that the pressure is between 5 and 7 psi. If the pressure is higher, bleed the tank until it is at this pressure level. This test should only be done when the tank is empty. - A faulty check valve can also cause a small amount of water in the tank. To check this, do not use any water from the reverse osmosis system for 24 hours, then check the water flow to the drain in the morning before any water flows through the house.
